Sri Sri Viswayogi Viswamjee Maharaj wishes to reform the society establishing the true values of Sanaatana Dharma(universal human values) and His mission is to achieve this through self-reform. Family is the basic unit of the society and Mother & Child are the backbone of the family unit. Both of them are to be treated with care and respect for making a sound family unit and for building a healthy society.

"Body is the temple and Heart is the altar of the Lord". This is the motto of Viswamandiram. It is necessary, therefore to keep the body healthy and the Heart pure. So there is a very great need to provide medical services to the poor and needy in the rural areas. To bring these services within the reach of the rural population, medical camps were started under the guidance of His Holiness Sri Sri Sri Viswayogi Viswamjee Maharaj. Medical camps alone are not sufficient to achieve this ideal, and with the objective of achieving this ideal Swamijee aims at rendering high quality medical service free of cost at VIMS - Mother and Child Care Hospital under the aegis of Viswayogi Institute of Medical Sciences, and also educate the people in rural areas about physical, mental and environmental hygiene.

INTRODUCTION

In a sprawling area close to Kondaveedu Hills, known for its holy heritage and located 16 km away from Guntur, Andhra Pradesh on the National Highway No. 5 is a complex of buildings given the name Viswanagar. This serves as the holy abode of Bhagwan Sri Sri Sri Viswayogi Viswamjee Maharaj affectionately addressed as Swamijee. Viswa Manava Samaikyata Sthupam and the newly constructed hospital reflect Swamijee's mission for establishing Universal Integration & Peace. Viswa Manava Samaikyta Stupam, the Universal Integration Pillar, is architecturally and aesthetically a wonderful edifice with a huge central dome having eight entrances. Seven of these symbolize the seven major religious paths of the world while the eighth represents the path of rationalists. The fact that all the entrances lead to one central hall suggests that whatever path one may choose, it will lead to the same omnipotent, omniscient and omnipresent God.

Dr. Madhuri, the blessed daughter of Sri Akula Koteswara rao and Smt. Akula Kameswari of Viswamandiram, Guntur conceived the idea of a hospital exclusively providing free health and medical care for women and children who are accorded a special place in the society in our country since times immemorial. The dream of that blessed lady has materialized in the form of VIMS- Mother and Child Care Hospital in Viswanagar with the divine blessings of Swamijee.

Appreciating and pleased with the dedicated and devotional services for the progress of the medical camps and the Hospital, His Holiness Sri Sri Sri Viswayogi Viswamjee Maharaj appointed Dr. Madhuri Akula as the Chief Executive Director of Viswayogi Institute of Medical Sciences.

. As a first step VIMS - Mother & Child Care Hospital was inaugurated on April 3rd 2008, by Former President of India, Hon. Dr. Abdul Kalaam and is now providing quality service free of cost to the needy.
