Bhagawan Sri Sri Sri Viswayogi Viswamjee Maharaj ’s Visit to Memphis, Tennessee

Dhanvantari Homam &  Meeting at Buddhist temple in Memphis, TN : November 10th 2012

On Saturday November 10^th 2012 Amrutha Maha Mryutunjaya Dhanvantari homam was performed at the grounds of First unity church in Memphis, TN in the divine presence of Swamiji. After the homam during the discourses Swamiji highlighted the importance of balance between the five elements that are present in not only the universe but also the human body. Health is nothing but synchorinized functioning of these five elements. Swamiji mentioned that Vishwam if the first word in Vishnu Sahasranam and Jagath is the last word of Shiva Sastra purana. This Vishwam has two wives Shridevi and Bhudevi – former represents good health, knowledge and wealth, while the latter represents the five elements, particularly the Bhoomi. Swami emphasized the significance of Dhanvantri and how the health of the entire universe is protected by Dhanvantri form. Swamiji finally summarized that the five elements were not properly treated and protected due to which there is increasing occurrences of natural calamities in the world in the last 6 years. Swamiji summarized by saying that Global Warming is a Global Warning. 

Earlier On Friday (11/9/12)evening, Sri Viswamjee attended the opening ceremony of the Maitrya Buddha Project/Relic Tour at the Buddhist Temple in Memphis, TN. A wonderful  and sacred collection of relics belonging to  Gautama Buddha and many other Buddhist masters is touring the world and is currently in USA.The Relics were collected over many year by Lama Zopa Rinpoche, the Spiritual Founder of the Relic Tour. The relics which resemble beautiful, pearl-like crystalsv were found in the ashes of the masters after their cremation. The relics are the symbols of compassion and wisdom -the values that the Buddha and the matser's embodied. The relic tour is a vehicle of spreading the message if love and unity and to help raise funds to build a  150-ft/45-m bronze statue of Maitreya Buddha in Bodhgaya, India. The relics will ultimately be housed inside the Buddha statue.

In addition to Sri Viswamjee, speakers at the sacred event included Venerable Thich Van Dam, Khenpo Gawang Rinpoche , Carol Richardson and  Venerable Thich Hai Vien.  The ceremony started with a beautiful invocation and speech by Venerable Thich Van Dam. He spoke about the sacred and healing power of the relics and the message of Buddha. Sri Viswamjee spoke on the importance of Unity among all faiths and religions. He emphasised that all great spiritual teachers had the same message-that God is one and Omnipotent and Omnipresent . All these great teachers-including Buddha and Jeses had to face tremendous suffering so that the truth that there is only one God and that we have to love our neighbour as ourself and be united was understood. Buddha is the symbol of Knowledge.  He sacrificed his whole life to spread the message of love, compassion and tolerance. We have to offer two things to God namely our heart and mind so that we can have peace and love in the Universe. The Universe is composed of 5 elements that is also found in our bodies-water, fire, air, earth and space. When the ratio of these gets imbalanced -then people and the universe suffer consequences. Now a days due to pollution and human greed, Earth is undergoing tremendous natural calamities. We have to arise and awake and unite to save mother earth. The only way to make the world an abode of peace is to unite and stop abusing mother Earth and to unite so we can avoid  the destruction of the mother earth.
