GURU POORNIMA CELEBRATIONS, JULY 17th - JULY 19th 2008
Guru Poornima was celebrated for three days in the Washington DC area, where people from all parts of the country gathered to offer worship to Sri Swamiji. July 17th 2008 : Guru Pooja was performed to Sri Swamiji in Rajdhani Mandir, Chantilly, VA, and Swamiji delivered a discourse on the ocassion of Guru Poornima on July 17th evening. July 18th 2008 : Paada Pooja and Datta vratam along with chanting of the Sri Rudram were performed at the residence of Mrs & Mr. Poornachandra Rao on the morning of July 18th. In the evening Paada Pooja on the ocasssion of Guru Poornima was performed at residence of Mrs. & Mr. Kumar Chunduru where about 200 people attended to seek divine blessings of Swamiji. In the evening there were awards presentation and cultural programmes at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, in Rockville, MD. Swamiji blessed and presented achievement awards to persons from different sections of the society for their contributions to the welfare of the community. Dr. Nori who is the Chairman, International Advisory Council, VIMS was also honoured for His contributions to the society. Dr Nori spoke at length about the Hospital and the services it is providing and the need to support the divine cause. |
