GANESH CHATHURTHI , AUGUST 23rd 2009
Swamiji has conveyed his divine blessings to all on the ocassion of Ganesh Chaturthi.
Lord Ganesha is one who bestows intelligence and success and also removes obstacles that come our way.
Swamiji wishes that Lord Vinayaka (who is the remover of all obstacles) should bring peace , happiness and prosperity to everyone, thereby making the world an abode of peace (Prasanthi Nilayam).
Spiritual Significance of Lord Ganesha
(This has been taken from from "Viswaratnamala", by Smt. Ratnamohini)
Lord Ganapati is the Lord of all Groups. He is being worshipped since primitive times, and also considered as the main power.
Those who pray to Lord Vinayaka on the Vinayaka Chaturthi day are well aware of his Lordship. Lord Ganapati bestows wisdom and realization. Both these powers are under his control. What these powers do is let deeds done with good intentions meet with success, and placing obstacles for bad deeds. Ganapati is the powers of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati in union. He is the guide who delivers to the God we worship, whatever prayers we offer. He is setting an ideal for the mankind through his life. Who so ever prays to him with devotion, he bestows auspiciousness, realization and intellect, and showers his grace so that all tasks are accomplished with wisdom.
Lord Vinayaka is embodiment of education. His knowledge is very sharp. He is a great poet among poets. Sage Vyasa used Lord Ganapati for writing the epic Mahabarata, While writing when his pen broke, he immediately pulled out his tusk, and used it as a pen, thereby showing us that one should not waste any time. He is called as Eka Dantaya, because of being left with only one tusk.
Lord Ganapati is symbolic of Sattvic food. His behavior is Sattvic(balanced) in nature, because of taking Sattvic food. He does not have any desires. He has made desire is vehicle. The mouse depending upon the smell wishes for everything, and craves for it. The vehicle as a mouse is symbolic of the fact that Lord Ganapati has cravings and desires under his control.
Ganapati is the basis for all life, just as OM is the basis of all sounds. For all living beings and all endeavors, Lord Vinayaka qualifies to be worshipped first. Just as the footprints of all the animals in a forest merge into the footsteps of an elephant, Lord Vinayaka merges into himself, the footsteps of all living beings. The elephant head of Lord Vinayaka symbolizes all good qualities. One who has proven that the whole world is in him, is Lord Vinayaka. We believe that because of eating food, Vinayaka has a big belly. In reality what it means is a stomach that has the whole universe in it.
Ganapati also means divinity in humanity. It also means humanity with human instinct. In any good task you undertake he protects you like God. If you do any wrong deeds he will torment you like an animal. So what Vinayaka philosophy preaches is to do good tasks with good intentions and good intellect.
Lord Ganapati drives away all obstacles and blesses any work undertaken by us with good intentions.

Sri Krishna Asthami, August 13th 2009
Sri Krishna is a complete manifestation of infinite divine love. Sri Krishna's form is beautiful. The beauty is not only of the body, but of the heart. All positive aspects of human life with divinity is His form.
Sri Krishna's life teaches us how to lead our life in the world. He used love, tact, humor and diplomacy to get rid of evil in the world. The state of today's world is much worse than in Dwapara yuga, and Sri Krishna's skills and diplomacy are in great need today. Though His acts are not comprehended by all, they are divine mysteries and He followed the right path, was an able administrator, politician, a great husband, king, social worker and above all a great human being. He was so tolerant that He let his disciple place his feet on His own head and move forward. He protected those who had faith in Him like an eyelid protects the eye.
Lord Krishna is an embodiment of kindness and compassion. Right in the battlefield He preached the Bhagwad Gita to Arjuna. In reality it is for the benefit of the whole humankind, for all ages to come that he made Arjuna as a medium to impart the highest truths in the world. Krishna avataara provides the spiritual aspirant with necessary teachings to attain one-ness with Lord. Sri Krishna is the charioteer who leads the chariot of our human life towards divine bliss and teaches us to find contentment and happiness in whatever we do.
Sri Krishna is the Universal Guru, “Krishnam Vande Jagadgurum”. Although Sri Krishna’s Avatar is past, whenever we think of Him, in whatever form we think of him, He protects us.
To worship Lord Krishna is to become Sri Krishna and lead our life according to His teachings. My divine Blessings to you all on the occasion of Sri Krishnasthami.

Sravana Poornima, Raksha Bandhan, August 5th 2009
Swamiji has conveyed His divine blessings to all on the ocassion of Shravana Poornima & Raksha Bandhan, on the August 5th 2009.
Swamiji has said that Raksha bandhan symbolises the love and affection between the brother and sister. On this day the brother should
visit his sisters house,
get rakhi tied on his hand, have food at her house and pledge to always support and protect her and fulfill her desires.
One of the oldest legendary references to the festival of Rakhi goes back to 300 B.C. At this time Alexander the Great, was invading India. Alexander was shaken by the fury of the Indian king Puru in his first attempt. Upset by this, Alexander's wife, who had heard of the Rakhi festival, approached King Puru. King Puru accepted her as his sister and when the opportunity came during the war, he refrained from fighting Alexander. In the war, when Alexander fell from his chariot and King Puru was about to slay him, King Puru saw the Rakhi on his wrist and he drew his sword back!
The festival of Raksha Bandhan has a wisdom behind it. It is a lifelong process of practising and promoting human, moral, cultural, social and spiritual values and empowering it will help to restore positivity and virtues in life and society.
